Kim Hyun Joong The Most Popular Star in China

SS501's leader and actor Kim Hyun-joong has literally shot Sky High.

According to a survey on a Chinese portal site (http://www.vdfly.com), Kim Hyun-joong ranked first in 'the most effective Asian star'. He received 3068 (19.2%) votes. This seems to be because of the MBC drama "Naughty Kiss" which currently started broadcasting in China. Kim Hyun-joong played lead role for the first time in this drama. He was already popular being in the group ss501 but not enough to be in the first place. It proves hallyu dramas still affect China greatly.

Even the ranking from 2~10 shows how strong the popularity of drama actors or idols is. Song Seung-heon from "My Princess" got 1684 (10.5%) votes in second place, and third place was Girl's Generation Yoona with 1259 (7.9%) votes for "You Are My Destiny”.

In 4th place came Rain (1190 votes, 7.4%), 5th TVXQ U-Know (1148 votes 7.2%), 6th Park Sin-hye (991 votes 6,2%), 7th Lee Seung-gi (682 votes 4.3%), 8th Superjunior Kim Hee-cheol 600 votes 3.7%), 9th Kim Jeong-hoon (529 votes 3.3%) and 10th Moon Geun-yeong (291 votes 2.5%).

This survey was carried out on a basis of a group of sample surveys that were carried out in representative Chinese portal sites like Sohu, Baidu, Google, Sina.com and more.

Because of his role as Baek Seung Jo in Playful Kiss, Kim Hyun Joong’s name gets more popular. He got the popularity award from MBC Drama Award last year. This SS501′s member beat Lee Min Ho, who is popular because of his roles in Boys Before Flowers and Personal Taste.

Hyun Joong did not expect this award. At the beginning, The Face Shop icon who is 24 years old, got difficulties in acting as Baek Seung Jo, a cool man who have IQ 200.

“It is not easy acting as a genius – the dialogue is full of unfamiliar words. Furthermore, I had to kiss Jung So Min without any dialogue. It was weird, but it was playful kiss, he he he. Kim Hyun Joong Male Entertainer with the Most Miraculous Existence

The netizens have selected JYJ’s Park Yoochun as the male entertainer with “The most miraculous existence, the “strongest” con-artist”.

Korean website DCinside held a poll from 25 January to 1 February, with the theme of “Who is the male entertainer with the most miraculous existence, the “strongest” con-artist?” and Park Yoochun eventually took the top spot.

Of the 27,546 people that voted, Park Yoochun received the support of 8,165 (29.6%) of the people.

Park Yoochun’s handsome appearance, strapping figure, as well as exceptional vocal ability, topped off with his undeniable acting potential as shown in the television drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” has caused envy among the netizens.

Park Yoochun is also fluent in 3 languages, Korean, English and Japanese. He was also awarded the No.1 spot in a previous poll for “The male artist which could best play the role of an English Translator.”

Placed in 2nd position was Kim Hyun Joong with 4,032 (14.6%) votes, and 3rd place went to Yoo Jae Suk with 3,427 (12.4%) votes.

Other people that made it on the list were TVXQ’s Yunho, singer Lee Seung Gi, and Won Bin, etc.
